I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Wow, the detail is amazing! Is this a hobby project or is there a client involved somewhere? Must have taken a looong time to model this.

  2. Love it! Those massive ICs and huge resistors really date it well. Not a single surface mount component in sight :-)

  3. This is amazing ! The transistors, trimmers, resistors, capacitors, Integrated circuits all is perfect. My only complain is the metal parts look dull, they look just plain gray, I am talking about the IC' pins for example. They should be rough shiny at least to make it photo realistic. Great job

  4. Amazing work Olivar! I am showing all my friends on Google+ this image. You are my new favorite artist! You just kicked up detail to a whole new level!

  5. Thanks for all your great comments. :-)

The 1050 circuit board is only a part of a hobby project entirely done in my spare time. At the end it will be a complete model of an Atari 1050 Disk Drive. Currently I'm working on the drive mechanics. The case is already done.

Last year I finished a complete Blender model of an Atari 800XL home computer.
You can find more in formations about the project on my blog: http://des-or-mad.net/blog/kategorie/3datari.html (german)

  6. As an electronic technician who has seen his share of boards, I have to say 'wow'. Looks like the real thing. Awesome attention to detail.
