Best of Blender Artists: 2026-18

Every week, hundreds of artists share their work on the Blender Artists forum. I’m putting some of the best work in the spotlight in a weekly post here on BlenderNation.

A suggestion…
Something I’ve always noticed is that in many scenes, especially those of scenery and architecture, people only post their renders, and even images of the mesh models without textures, but they usually omit something very important: “The credits for the assets, the 3D models used.” I’ve seen many renders where people just take a scene, assemble it with various assets from the internet, and claim the credit as if they created everything from scratch, receiving the same prestige as someone who actually modeled everything in their scene…
So I think this type of scene should include additional information such as “Scene not modeled, only assembled,” because I’ve seen people who don’t even know how to model a chair gaining the status of highly professional artists just for grouping a bunch of assets and lighting them…
I think this applies to the same situation as someone who asks AI to create an image and then wants to claim credit for its creation…
So this information could be included and… Credits for where the assets came from, because it would be an extra layer to have on top of the scene, and whether the creator (or scene assembler) is really capable of creating something from scratch or depends entirely on assets from the internet, and this applies to 3D assets created by AI, which I have seen frequently, but I don’t mention it in the person’s publication because I don’t want to create a situation for them…
I think the site should have this information, as some sites have been doing for a long time. For example: Scene only assembled and not modeled, and credits for where the assets came from…
That would be a good thing to encourage, I agree. We sometimes WILL ask for wireframes or other renders if we suspect for example that an image is AI generated. It’s hard to enforce though.
