Publishing Blender to Sega Dreamcast Using the Spiral Game Engine

What if you could export models from Blender directly to the Sega Dreamcast?
Rogper writes:
And with just a bit of coding, make those models respond to your inputs… almost like a game engine that actually uses Blender as its user interface? Wouldn’t that be a Blast? 😉
Well, rejoice!
That’s exactly what Spiral Game Engine does. It uses Blender as its interface and allows developers to export the final game to real Sega Dreamcast hardware.
A small indie trio recently demonstrated this with Soul Blaze, a brand new Dreamcast game built through this pipeline.
Here’s the video demonstration:
And for those who still have their Sega Dreamcast ready, the game is available for free here.

Thanks! :)
If anyone has doubts don’t be a stranger and leave a comment, I’ll reply every single one as soon as possible.
Hi RogPer! Long time no see!
Amazing project. Just knowing that is possible to “burn” a .cdi built from Blender and play on the DreamCast is incredible!
Are you guys planning on publishing the Spiral Game Engine, or maybe sell it for game developers?
All the best for you and congratulations!
Hello CHICORTIZ!
Thanks! I’m Happy you’re enjoying it! :)
Yup it’s a Dreamca..me true XD hehe! All thanks to MigDps!
MigDps is the one who decides the fate of his Spiral Game Engine (he’s the sole author) …but he has publicly mentioned that he intends to release it for free once it’s solid and ready.
My role in the game was on the story, graphics and animation. MigDps did all the programming.
Stay well, and see you next time! :)
The Sega Guru has made a fast review of Soul Blaze :)
