“Designing in a 3D Playground: Unlocking Low-Code Add-on Development for Engineers” by Seán Carroll at Blender Conference 2025

This talk explores how engineers can create domain-specific tools in Blender using the low-code development add-on Serpens and powerful Python libraries such as OpenSeesPy. The presentation highlights StructureWorks, a structural analysis add-on that brings finite element simulation into Blender’s 3D environment. By combining node-based visual scripting with external Python tools, engineers can now prototype and deploy custom workflows with minimal coding.
