FrameFlow: Bringing Documentations and Clarity with Nodes

FrameFlow smoothens the process of note making inside the Node Editor and adds handy features too.

Documenting is always crucial (if you have a coding background you know.) Give it a thought: You spent a week working on that precious procedural material, six months later you open the file and while looking at your own node spaghetti, I wish you luck understanding labels like NoiseFrac4, FinalTex (Pun intended !)

Comment frame is a default setting in Adobe Substance (just one click frames editing). Other software suites like Unreal, Grasshopper3D have it already !!

While Blender supports frame notes, the workflow is tedious: right-click → Select Layout → Select Frame → Open Text Editor → switch back to Node Editor → select data block. You need any edits, well Back to the Text Editor menu. It’s tedious and annoying at times.

Inspired by Adobe Substance’s simple frame editing, FrameFlow brings multiline notes, with bonus features like emojis, and text formatting right inside the Node Editor — no more hopping between editors or data blocks.

I’ve found it super helpful while following tutorials and organizing procedural materials. If you like keeping things tidy and clear, you’ll love this addition to your workflow.

Quick demo, less than 5 minute video explains all functionality of the addon, that is how simple FrameFlow is!
