Create Textured Knit & Woven Designs in Blender for 3D Printing + Free Project File

I’ve been seeing a lot of these woven 3D printed designs and wanted to see if I could pull it off in Blender. In this video, I’ll walk you through two different ways to make textured woven designs in Blender for 3D printing. We’ll go over both Displacement modifiers and Celtic Links so you can see the pros and cons of each, and I’ll share which method I personally prefer.

Even if you’re just starting out with Blender or 3D printing, this is beginner-friendly and a fun way to add unique textures to your prints. Plus, I’ve included a free project file so you can follow along and experiment with your own designs.

What you’ll learn in this video:

  • How to use Displacement with texture maps for woven effects
  • How to set up Celtic Links using Blender’s Extra Curve Objects add-on
  • Tips for cleaning up geometry with Remesh and Decimate modifiers
  • How to prep woven models so they’re ready for 3D printing
