“Slow Crafting VR: Hand-Drawn Textures and Worlds” by Beatriz Ruthes at Blender Conference 2025

In this talk, Beatriz Ruthes shares her process of building a VR environment entirely in Blender, in which every object and texture originates from hand-drawn illustrations on paper. Developed during an experimental artist residency in Luxembourg, the project explores how traditional techniques can bring warmth, intimacy and emotional resonance to digital spaces.
