How I Filmed a Dragon in Iceland

Here’s a wild video by Compositing Academy – shooting high quality VFX on a budget. They’re using a combination of a new mobile film making tool, a Lidar scanner to achieve something quite remarkable!

In this video I’m demonstrating a new way to film visual effects – using Lightcraft Jetset, an Xgrids Lidar Scanner, Blender, and Nuke, along with some very talented artists.

Although Simulcam has been done in the past, it was not available as a consumer product, or easily portable. This video demonstrates an in-the-field final result you can produce by leveraging this system.
