Conform Object Gets an Experimental Modifier for Blender 4.5+

3D model conforming update. Two images showing a character with an object transforming from projected to surface-attached.

The Conform Object add-on just received an experimental update in version 1.6 — introducing a modifier powered by Geometry Nodes for Blender 4.5 and above.

This new modifier version of the tool brings key benefits:

  • Faster performance on dense meshes
  • Improved non-destructive workflow
  • Compatible with the modifier stack
  • No more hidden helper grids to manage

It works just like the original Conform Object operator, but wrapped in a modifier, giving you more flexibility and control within the modifier stack.

See the demo video here:

To enable it:

  • Update to version 1.6 of the add-on.
  • In Preferences, tick the ‘Go Experimental’ option in the add-on panel.

A new Conform Object menu entry — “Add Conform Object Modifier” — will appear. See this video for more details.

Feedback is welcome – I’d like to hear how it fits into your workflow and whether you’d like to see the lattice feature brought into the modifier version too. Either leave a comment in the youtube video or email [email protected]. I continue to post updates for all my add-ons on X/Twitter.
