Planet ESIX – “Ship MR-07” | CGI Breakdown 2025

“MR-07” is a cinematic visualization of a futuristic world, entirely created in Blender, with Cycles as the main rendering engine. The core of the scene is a highly detailed sci-fi ship, fully modeled from scratch inside Blender using traditional polygonal modeling techniques.
While the main structure of the ship was manually crafted, the scene also includes a large number of photogrammetry assets to enrich the environment with realistic textures and natural imperfections — blending the handmade with the scanned for a truly immersive result.
Technical Overview:
- Full 3D Modeling: The MR-07 ship was modeled entirely in Blender, with great attention to mechanical detailing and silhouette design.
- Photogrammetry Assets: Integrated seamlessly into the scene to boost realism and environmental storytelling.
- Render Settings: Final frames were rendered at 5120×2160 resolution, with an impressive 2-minute render time per frame on an NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti, showcasing the power of Cycles and a well-optimized workflow.
- Fog and Atmosphere: Rendered separately using Octane Render Network, allowing for cinematic volumetric fog and depth-enhancing effects.
Production Time:
- Ship Modeling: 1 week of focused work
- Scene Assembly & Final Rendering: 5 working days
