Video: The Oak Tree

A young boy is not allowed to follow his passion. What will he do when he becomes a parent? A heartwarming story by Aneesh Arts with exceptional visual quality!

Hi everyone,
The Oak Tree is my first-ever animated movie — a deeply personal project that I’ve poured my heart into over the past 3 to 4 years. The story follows the journey of an artist, one that many of us can relate to in different ways.
This film is my most precious piece of art, crafted with passion, patience, and dedication. It is a one-man project, created almost entirely by myself using Blender. It stands not only as a major milestone in my creative journey but also as a humble contribution to the amazing Blender community @BlenderOfficial .
The majority of the time was spent on the rendering process, which came with its own set of challenges. This also marks my very first attempt at character animation, making the experience even more meaningful and full of learning.
I truly hope you enjoy watching The Oak Tree as much as I enjoyed bringing it to life.

Hi,
I’d like to offer you two very sincere congratulations:
Firstly, because I find your film moving in its theme and remarkable in its use of the various techniques offered by Blender.
But also because I regret that scripted films are quite rare and that you had the courage to make one, knowing all the work and involvement it represents.
I decided that I want to try to activate this Blendernation community by writing comments here when I can. It’s shame how little interaction we see here even when the posts are this quality!
The short movie was awesome and I really enjoyed watching it! I also like the story the creator shared it. Tells a lot of ones character when they have worked 3 to 4 years with a project to make it perfect! Good job!
Thank you! Yes, the number of comments has really dropped over the last year – it’s a common pattern on many blogs as people are more likely to leave a quick ‘like’ to things these days without having to think too much. Thanks, social media :)
I allready saw this short film recently. Very well done – and a gripping story (especially for artists). TOP !
The video really touched me, so much so that I forwarded it to my wife and children, with the following message:
“I hope I have encouraged your God given gifts and passion. Forgive me where I have discouraged it.”
My wife also liked it and thought it was well done both from an artistic and plot perspective. She also pointed out to me the changes in technology as the boy grows up to become a parent.
I also loved the music, especially the lyrics “let the magic break your chains” and “lose yourself and be made whole.” For me, this is my identity in the One who broke my chains and made me whole, not of myself, but of what He did once and for all for me.
Jesus said, “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:25
Awesome!
What a touching film. Amazing Good work !
