What makes Vector Displacement Map brushes (VDM) different from normal displacement:

Standard displacement moves vertices along the surface normal (up/down).

VDM uses a 3D vector (x, y, z) per pixel, allowing full spatial displacement, so it can create overhangs, folds, horns, pores, scales, etc, that normal brushes can’t.
