Did you know that Blender is used in part of the construction process of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant in the UK?

The BlenderBIM Add-on was presented last month at a conference by buildingSMART UK + Ireland. A short 20 minute live demonstration was provided that shows how Blender can now be used for editing building model databases by architects, engineers, and construction professionals.

This demonstration covers auditing buildings, modeling new buildings, generating drawings and construction documentation, structural analysis, distribution system design, cost planning and construction scheduling, facility management, and live building sensors.
