UVPackmaster 3 new release - huge performance boost and other nice features!

The UVPackmaster team is glad to announce a new release of UVPackmaster 3 for Blender (version 3.1.5).

We are very excited about this release as it introduces the first phase of performance optimizations of the packing algorithm. You can expect packing times reduced by 20-30% on CPU and by 30-40% on GPU! And it is the result of the first phase only - expect further performance improvements in coming releases :)

Of course it is not the only improvement we prepared in this release. Check the list below:

New operation: Group By Similarity: group all selected islands by similarity and save generated groups in a grouping scheme. The resulting grouping scheme can be then used during packing in the usual way.

The operation is fully compatible with all similarity-based options provided by the packer. Refer to the video tutorial describing the options in detail for more info:

New option for Groups To Tiles mode: Pack To Single Box - force every group to be packed into a single target box (one of the target boxes configured for the group). Note that different groups may still be packed into different boxes, also different groups may be packed into the same box. The option can be set globally (for every group) but it also can be overridden on a per-group basis.

There is much more - for the full list of improvements, refer to the release notes on our website

Of course you can download the release for free, if you already own a UVPackmaster 3 license - look for it in your library on the marketplace where you purchased the packer. UVPackmaster is available on the following marketplaces:

Blender Market
Gumroad

This is one addon that's so worth the price. Just awesome how UVPackMaster just keeps getting better and adding new features. Been a user since v1 and updating has been a no-brainer since. Thanks so much, UVPackMaster Team!
