I got my start making cartoons in Flash MX. This was before adobe ruined it then hid it's corpse under the Animate brand name.

Flash had a feeling of being close to the hardware, the systems and abstractions were exposed to be used and misused. You could zoom out and SEE stuff outside the frame when watching cartoons made in it!

It was very humanizing, and very technical at the same time. Like you could feel the computer's workings under your cursor.

Blender gives me much the same feeling, you can feel it's flexibility and freedom.

Many years ago I animated a series called "Gym of the Romantic Journey" in Blender 2.7 Trying to mix 2D and 3D on a micro budget. It really gave me an appreciation for how much more difficult it is than just a little light wrap, and how hard it is to share something original.

Since then I've learned a lot more, and Blender and consumer hardware has gotten a lot better. Really amazing stuff is within the reach of everyone with a computer and an internet connection.
