Introducing Vertex Weight & Rigging in Blender – Especially Useful to New Grease Pencil Users

Mumu Mundo writes:

Some concepts like vertex weight and rigging are basic knowledge to most of Blender users. But with the increasing popularity of Grease Pencil that turned Blender to a powerful 2D animating software, many 2D animators are coming to Blender with little knowledge of its technical aspects.
This is why I made two videos to introduce vertex weight in the first one and the three rigging methods inside Blender in the second one.

Even if you are an experienced Blender user you may still learn something from this, since Blender has so many features that are not always easy to spot.

Introduction to Vertex Groups & Weight Painting

In this video you learn what vertices and vertex groups are, two ways to assign weight to vertex groups and how to use weight with modifiers.

Introduction to Grease Pencil Rigging Methods

In this video you learn what rigging is while creating your first rig. I also show you all three rigging methods inside Blender.

Some of these methods are seldom mentioned or used in other Blender tutorials, but there are always situations in which they can be useful.
