Free Addon: Brick Texture Generator

Kubocarte writes:

Theoretically, a procedural texture is better than a PBR in the same way a vector graphic is better than a raster image, It has infinite resolution, can cover any surface, doesn't require UV mapping, and can be created without getting off your chair or browsing on the web.

Although, arguably the best thing about procedural textures is that they can be altered and modified with ease into practically anything you want!
And of course, bricks are no exception, this texture should allow you to create ANY type of brick you want yourself through easy-to-interpret variable inputs in a node group.

So you won't have to look through for ages on the internet for something that suits the theme of your scene

Here's a little showcase of the nodes:

  1. Thank you very much in advance, I hope it will be very useful. Although it will always be necessary to echo the textures so that the work is compatible with other applications, it is invaluable to have this resource thanks to your knowledge for those of us who are not experts in procedural nodes #kubocarte

  2. If I assume correctly, by projection you are referring to the type of brick you want to replicate?

This has been designed from the ground up in reference to the old medieval-themed bricks you'd find on castle walls, which you may have been able to infer by the texture's default appearance. The sharp cracks and damage are not seemingly what you would observe over natural deterioration for the most part, but more so due to manual carvings or the bricks withstanding several heavy impacts. So, it would be best to use it for the same

But I do believe this gives you enough control to turn it into most other forms of bricks, like cinder blocks, construction bricks, or stone tiles to name a few, or even give it a more natural appearance if it suits your tastes.
If you'd prefer, I'd love to show you a few demonstrations, feel free to contact me through email or discord (Kubocarte#6870)
