Major Indian Blockbuster RRR uses Blender for Hundreds of VFX Shots

A new "User Story" has just been released on the Blender.org website, featuring the work of Indian studio Makuta VFX, which delivered hundreds of shots for the epic "RRR" blockbuster using Blender!

Studio CEO and Co-Founder Pete Draper shares that Cycles was the gateway drug that brought Makuta to Blender, via the "Cycles for Max" port. In 2019, the studio started migrating away from 3ds Max to a full Blender pipeline.

    I follow Pete Draper work for over 20 years. I have one of his 3ds Max Books, Deconstructing Elements with 3dsMax. Lott of artists migrate from Max to Blender, that does not surprise at all. Great to hear that Pete is also in that migration, even after more then 2 decades doing vxf in 3ds Max.
