If you ever had to import a lot of assets in blender you know how painful and frustrating it can be. While we wait for drag and drop import you can try this add-on.
This is an add-on for Blender which permit you to import fbx and obj files by their paths.
Features:
- Importing .fbx and .obj files by having their paths in the clipboard
- Batch import all .fbx and obj files from a folder by having folder's path in the clipboard

(Not so) dumb question. How does it work?
Did you check the product's page?
I used right click "Get info" on the filename to get the Path.
The instructions are for Windows. I'm using a Mac. I right clicked on the file name in Finder, by "Where" I right clicked on the path location and chose "Copy as Pathname" for the path. "Ctrl-Shift-V" is being intercepted by another program.
This doesn't work at all, even with a path copied onto the clip board. Not only that but even if it did work, it can't even keep its addon prefs saved, which change each time you start Blender. I guess things are free for a reason, afterall.
The code is really short, you may dive into, and find
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"blender" : (2, 90, 0),
......
operators.ImportAnyFile.bl_idname, 'V', 'PRESS', shift=True, ctrl=True
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have had time to get it working too bth.
I can't find any link to download it. :-( I really want to use the program, but where is the download file?
