How Blue Zoo Animation Studio Used Blender to Create "Sinking Feeling"

Francesco Siddi has just posted a new "User Story" on the Blender.org website, in which Blue Zoo Animation Studio talks about using Blender to make its critically acclaimed "Sinking Feeling" animated short.

This animated short marked the studio's first foray into Blender, with the animators each tackling one shot on the short, a shot which also happened to be their first in the software. In a sense, as director Mark Shore puts it, the animators were paid to learn Blender.

Some of the main attractions of Blender were Grease Pencil and the plethora of tutorials and shaders available online that showcased Blender's power in the 2D/3D hybrid illustrative style.
