Would be cool if golden ratio was really a thing, but it’s not. It’s a useless proportion which by itself means nothing. A piece of art isn’t better because it uses the golden ratio. It’s just one of the most prevalent myths in modern design.
I'm sorry, but I'm in Italy right now and after leaving Michelangelo's basilica he designed, I can confirm that you are wrong. There is something about the space that you can't put into words and the golden ratio plays a role. I'm sorry you feel the way you do.
