Blender's 3.x development branch just got a facelift: A new splash screen to mark and celebrate the beginining of the milestone 3.x series' development! The splash itself is a gorgeous image from the recently released Blender open movie, Sprite Fright.

The splash for Blender 3.0's official release had also just been revealed. The development splash screen only appears in the development branches, before a splash is chosen and displayed towards the end of a development cycle for a numbered release. Here is Pablo Vazquez clarifying the difference:
This is not an update made just for 3.1 Alpha, this is for the development branch of the 3.x series (so until 4.0). Just like the nebula render by Gleb Alexandrov was for the 2.8x and 2.9x series.
The final 3.1 will have a different splash made by the community.
