This is the Blender Godot workflow for rigged/animated characters that I came up with after a lot of testing. It includes a bullet-proof rig setup, reliable GLTF export settings, and Godot character setup.

Contents:

  • rig and prepare any character for export to Godot
  • GLTF export and import settings (Godot's preferred format for exchanging rigged and animated meshes)
  • 3rd person character set up in Godot (including scripting)
