This 5-Part series provides a solid foundation to lighting, texturing, materials, rendering and compositing in Blender. In part 1 we go through the power of proxies, library overrides and lighting, Part 2 is a crash course on the material node editor where you are guided through creating a kickass velvet shader. Part 3 continues the material journey, providing a number of ways you can create fun, realistic fruit textures and materials. Part 4 dives into more complex materials such as glass and transparency, and part 5 wraps up the series with rendering and compositing. By the end of it all you should have a firm fundamental understanding enough that you can continue to experiment on your own models with your own custom setups!
