Another clash of 2d and 3d. I was always struggling to get the 2d character animation right on 3d backgrounds, especially when there’s a camera rotation involved. So I kind of developed a technique where I animate a plane, getting the timing, spacing and position in 3d right and than go for 2d animation, using grease pencil surface painting mode. The plane works as a sort of moving canvas.
