CG Artists can Apply to the Art Star program for Funds, Hardware and more!

4

I was recently contacted by Art Star, a consortium of CG-related organisations like SIGGRAPH, XP-Pen, Artstation and more. The program offers support for a wide range of CG artists - please continue reading to find out more about this offer, and to learn how to apply.

Note: application closes by September 15!

This program aims to support CG hobbyists, CG professional content creators, and CG studios. As long as the applicants have CG dreams, no matter where and who they are, they have a chance to achieve their goals and take part in this activity.

What you will get

  • Funds: Financial support reflecting your current situation.
  • Equipment: Program partners will provide applicants with pen displays or pen tablets to improve their skills and abilities.
  • Traffic: Art Star and partners will help amplify artist art and social media accounts.
  • Courses: The applicants can receive the course training resources from the Art Star program if they pass the evaluation.
  • Software: If applicants pass the evaluation, they can get the corresponding CG software support provided by the program partners.

How to apply

You will need to provide information about yourself and the project that you need support for; you can find all the required information on the Art Star page.

Program Timetable

  • 16th April - 15th September 2021: Application period;
  • 16th September- late October 2021: Evaluation period;
  • Early November 2021: The distribution of support resources.

Full disclosure: Art Star sent me an XP-Pen Artist Pro 16 TP tablet for this promotion. Art Star or XP-Pen did not have editorial control over this article.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Seems too good to be true. Is there a catch?

    Full disclosure: Bart is going to send that an XP-Pen Artist Pro 16 TP tablet to the first person commenting in this thread! :-)
