It's always a great day when huge industry players invest time and resources to donate to, develop, and/or extend Blender. AMD can proudly claim all three, and they have now simultaneously announced and released an incredibly promising USD Hydra plug-in for Blender!
We're really excited to share details on AMD's new @OpenUSD Hydra plug-in for @Blender, which also lets you use @MaterialXCG!

While Blender has just gained the ability to Import USD files, this add-on further extends the software's ability to benefit from the full potential of the USD workflow: It gives Blender the ability to assemble and manipulate USD data, Hydra support, as well as the ability to use MaterialX for a boost in interoperability.
