  1. This "Blender sighting" habit really gives an amatorial getto wibe to the community... have you ever seen a "Maya" or a "3D Studio Max" sighting post anywhere?

    • I think it's because the Blender community is a wildly passionate and enthusiastic crowd. Max and Maya users might be professional, working at a high level and have respect for their tool, but are they wildly passionate about their tool? Usually not as much. Also, despite being used in some movie productions, Blender is still the underdog. But it's gaining ground rapidly. I'm excited for the future.

      • I've never been so excited or passionate about a software like I am with Blender! we'll soon be on top of the world, we got the tools and the drive. we'll Blend them all

  2. You don't see Maya Sighting or 3DS Max Sighting videos because you expect those apps to be used in high-end productions. You don't expect to see Blender. LightWave use to get the same type of posts. It was/is a pro-level tool, but it wasn't Maya or Max, so it was novel to see it used in large productions.

  3. No, it isn't, Blender started to be used in large productions years ago (Spiderman 2 by Raimi), and by the way I've never seen a LightWave or a Cinema 4d sigthing post either.
