Hi all,
I would like to share my latest 3d work with you, made with Blender of course.
My client wanted to add a cannon shoot to a footage, for a Tv commercial.I decided to use Blender to 3d track the footage and add the smoke simulation in it.
Here is the breakdown:

I the smoke Blender? Look very good.
Thank you!
Yes, the smoke has been done in Blender
Shape and dynamics are good, but the color is awful: too blue, too light. It doesn't blend in the background image.
BTW, a lot of people and my client liked it :-)
What's important? Make quality or to have positive comments?
I'm not talking about positive comments...
In this case, the whole client's team thought I did quality :-D
Yeah I know this kind of situation with clients when I was a typographer. When I made different versions of a visual work, it's weird, they always chose the worst one.
Looks great. Not too blue or too light...just goes to show that those judgement calls are subjective. Really enjoyed that.
Thank you :-)
It's true! when we talk about colors, there is always on guy to say he doesn't like it :-)
The base film is a warm tone. IF the goal is to make stand out the smoke to demonstrate the smoke effect, it works.
IF the goal is to make a realistic FX, it NEEDS to blend in the warmer image. You do what you want.
IF the goal is to make something realistic, you HAVE TO base your effect (colors, levels, shape, sharpness, dynamics) on the image you work on. It's not a matter of opinion. Blending an FX on a background image must follow the attributes of the base image.
Make tuto in french please thx
