Reconstruct a Face from just a few photos with Face Builder [free/$]

Jan van den Hemel writes:

If you want to reconstruct a face, but you don’t have enough photos for photogrammetry, you can use this tool. It only needs 2 or 3 photos and does most of the work automatically, with only a little bit of manual finetuning needed. It’s a paid addon but the demo version works for 30 days so you can get quite a bit of work done for free.

  1. The [free/$] label is incredibly dishonest. FaceBuilder is not "free" in any way - it is a closed source subscription software with a $150 RECURRING annual fee, as the GPL compatible addon code is useless without the external, proprietary $$$ code (KeenTools).

Just because they don't charge for the 30 day demo doesn't make FaceBuilder "free" (also the website says it's 15 days, not 30). No one charges for a software demo. By that logic Zbrush is free too, alongside Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and every other commercial software that allows users to have a free trial.
