Blender by the Numbers 2020 is Out

1

The Blender Foundation has just released their annual "Blender by the Numbers" report for the year of 2020, revealing just how much Blender has grown during that seminal year.

While I really recommend to check out the exhaustive and impressive work done by Francesco Siddi on the Blender.org blog post, here is a quick rundown of the major stats revealed in it:

  • The Blender.org website has grown by 35%, accumulating a total of 23 million unique visitors in 2020.
  • Blender has been downloaded a total of 14 million times over four releases in 2020 from the Blender.org website, marking an over 30% increase across all platforms.
  • The development fund donations are up by 10%.
  • Blender has seen an unprecedented 108 new contributors, while still managing to retain it's industry leading response and resolution time.

  1. Blender is a free and open-source 3D application from Blender Foundation. It has great tools for modeling, rigging, rendering, animation, simulation, motion tracking, and some game and video creation options. You can also use it for low poly and UV maps.
