Nexus VI - Episode VII

First up is this brilliant piece of media by the French youtube channel "Nexus VI". While on the surface this might look like a simple (and very thorough) review of Luc Besson's "The Fifth Element" (although this video immediately oozes production value), these youtube creators present their reviews through the lens of a fictional sci-fi spaceship crew out in space on crazy adventures.  This latest episode of their flagship series really blows the lid of this concept and provides cinematic level CG and VFX "cut-scenes" throughout the video, the majority of which is done in Blender!

Nahid Mustafazade - Porsche 911 Carrera 4S coupe 2019

Next up is automotive artist Nahid Mustafazade's Porsche 911 model and render. This artwork show's Nahid's experience and mastery of the automotive modelling and rendering artform. This render was made in Blender 2.93 using cycles at 1500 samples. Check out his Artstation page for a wealth of automotive-based projects, all of which share this great quality.

Sonal Soni - Survival

Next up is 3D artist Sonal Soni's  "Survival". This great artwork distinguishes itself by its striking use of color and contrast. The background has a distinct painterly look, but Sonal assures that all of this piece is done entirely in Blender.

Tim Zaenkert - Seahorse

Tim Zaenkert's gorgeous render, "Seahorse", came to be after his recent familiarisation with Blender's retopology and texture painting workflows. This pushed him to put this new knowledge to the test and model, texture, and render a realistic seahorse from scratch in Blender, coming up with this great artwork. This scene was rendered in Cycles using 180 samples.

Théo Coeugniet - Resilience

Last but not least is Théo Coeugniet's resilience, a wonderful experiment in verticality. The final image sports a unique aspect ratio with a resolution of 1920x6200, which is uniquely suited for the narrative depicted in this great artwork. The scene was rendered in Blender 2.83 in Cycles at 512 samples, with another volumetric pass at 2048 samples. Check out his Blender Artists post for more renders and details on the process.
