  1. Well....I got hooked to Blender around the time when the first fluid sim was introduced. Maybe some of you remember the fluid magician, see below [1]. I know, new solver etc., everything is better today, no question about that. But the chosen fluid demos in the video look quite close to the stuff from 14 years ago, if not worse...

    • Thanks for the feedback. We will definitely work on improving the demo video in the future. MantaPro uses blenders default fluid solver, so anything that is possible in blender right now would only be made easier with MantaPro. Another contributing factor to the poor simulation quality in the video was a lack of time.

  2. Mantaflow is not that what is called "production ready". Is getting better, but it is still a pain to create good locking result. I think its difficult stuff in development. But i believe it will get some love, some day, som how.

  3. As always, I recommend if you're streamlining something in Blender that can already be done with a lot of effort, it's always better to demonstrate how to do it the "old" way and what the product does for you.

And generally, it's perfectly acceptable to not have perfect renders if you're showcasing a functionality of something being an improvement and not being the expert at the artist's side of things.

But what I want from a simulations add-on is a batch of ready made projects and settings that don't require me to endlessly tweak and simulate and re-simulate. So simulations need to be pretty on-point, on top of being streamlined, I think.
