Very cool effect. I wonder how easy it would be to create a python script to randomise the vertices Y coords...

That sounds like a fun idea acutally! I also don't think it would be too difficult, basically just getting some random vertices and then changing their Y values to random values in a specific interval... :) Let me know if you give it a try, I would be curious to see the approach! :)
