Blender Developer Campbell Barton has announced in a blog post on the Blender Developers Blog that three developers have will take part in a 6-8 weeks development sprint to investigate and improve mesh editing performance!

This initiative aims to answer the community's call for improvements in this area after Blender 2.8 had witnessed performance regressions with mesh editing performance. Germano Cavalcante, Jeroen Bakker, and Campbell Barton will be leading the charge on this sprint.

Switch to Linux. Blender is much faster there than on Windows...
Doesn't worth the pain caused by using Linux (hollywar triggered!!)
Something like Ubuntu is extremely user friendly and arguably easier to use than Windows. If you are able to use an advanced software program like Blender and worry about perfomance, using Linux should be no problem.
