Combining Eevee and Cycles and Crowdrender

Faster rendering is what its all about. We've been working hard on a new release, V0.3.0 of Crowdrender, and one experiment was very interesting so I thought I'd share it:) Essentially we rendered two scenes, one using eevee, the other cycles, across two machines, and then composite them together in Blender's compositor.

The rendering was split across two computers using our addon. The implications of this are that its possible to render things much faster this way since you can potentially pick and choose where you use eevee and where you use cycles, and also render them faster by using multiple computers :)

I'm a software engineer, I've worked on numerous technologies over the past 10 years. I started out working on full motion flight simulators and then worked with embedded systems. I now work on building an add-on to support rendering using multiple computers over internet/local networks. I started using blender in 2009 and have done small projects with it since then, however, crowd render, our network rendering add-on is by far the biggest adventure with Blender to date.

  1. would be very interesting of combining different cryptomattes aspects from both render engines: like rendering albedo and reflections in evee but ambient occlusion, shadows and Global illumination from cycles.

This should give a fast and high quality render.
