For hybrid rendering you will see faster results using smaller tiles (e.g. 32x32) however when using GPU alone you should use larger tiles (e.g. 256x256).
I would expect that you could've "animated collision" before by having an invisible collision object, and then animate its scale to 0 in one keyframe.
