Update: Blender Project Starter/Manager 1.2.0

It's time to update your Blender Project Starter Addon. My fork of Steven Scotts addon has been renamed to Blender Project Manager.

After 7 Fixes and 5 minor features in version 1.1.0, version 1.2.0 has multiple fixes and big new features, such as a flexible amount of folders or a completely new Project Manager. If you already downloaded the addon from Steven Scott or my GitHub repository, you should definitely update it to the latest version. (Fun Fact: This update was so much work, it took over a week of 5+ hours/day to complete. If you have any amount between $1 and $10 left to donate, please do so to help me continuing development.)

If you are not sure, whether you should get it or not, read this:
If Project Management is as easy as you think, why do so many people have dozens of unfinished projects and bad folder structures? Because it isn't (at least without this addon)! There are multiple causes for it, let me name a few:

  1. You forget about your projects because you can't finish them in one day, and when you open Blender the next time (which might be in a few days or after multiple weeks), you had to take care of so many other things, that you forget this project until you see it again when scrolling through your past projects (after multiple years in the worst case).
  2. "Let me save this really quick" - Something urgent disrupts you from your Blender session, like a Windows Update you didn't ask for. So you hit Save and save untitled256.blend on your Desktop. Without a descriptive name and any folder structure. And adding both later is both, hard and unlikely to happen.
  3. Your folder structure exists, but it's inconsistent, for multiple projects, the same folder has a different name (e.g. Blender Files, Blen Fildes, Blend Files, Blends, .blends, .blend Files, ...)
  4. You make a file where you add the paths to all unfinished projects, but as you move folders around or create new projects, the file gets outdated, and it's a lot of work to keep it up to date.

And that's where Blender Project Manager Comes in:

Solve the Folder Structure problem with an automatic folder Generation: Set up your preferred folder structure and your default project location in the preferences, restart Blender to make sure the changes apply, and now you only have to specify the project name and the Blender File Name.

Solve the Project Overview problem with the integrated Project Manager: Add open projects automatically (new projects) or manually (existing projects), update the path of moved project folders in 30 seconds, and mark projects as closed if you finish them. Every open project is displayed in the Manager Panel and can be accessed with one click.

Open projects are shared across multiple Blender versions. So don't wait longer, get your Addons copy free!

My goal is to declare Blender as good as even possible and make Tutorials, that you don't just follow along but after which you know what the settings do and you can change them to your own benefit. (sadly, I can't upload such tutorials yet, but I am working on them) I also produce quick tip videos for you, so that you can pick up very important knowledge you need to know quickly.
