Grease pencil animation add-ons

1

Tom_v writes:

The Studio Andarta Pictures wishes, for its future productions, to set up a traditional 2D animation pipeline, centred on the open source software Blender. Blender recently offers professional quality drawing tools, which allows to create a direct bridge between 2D and 3D animation and to access to a new field of possibilities. Andarta Pictures has been working for many weeks on the development of several Grease Pencil add-ons for traditional 2D animators.

To know more about it:

  • GP Onion Skin: augmented light table inspired by the TVpaint onion skinning. It allows to transform onion skin instances and display them relative to the world
(Note: it is planned to be able to couple this add-on to DAIN app (image interpolation) to generate intervals with AI (artificial intelligence)).
  • GP Move column: this is a function to move or delete key columns through the two Dopesheets (regular and grease pencil dopesheets)
  • Coming soon: GP Library: a 2d animation template system allowing to bank and import poses or animations divided in several Grease Pencil objects.

All the add-ons are free and available from Github with manuals.

Feel free to test the tools, and to give us your feedback. Other improvements will be made in the following months and shared with you! Stay tuned!
