Why you might want to comp renders

In this video we'll look at compositing the passes from a MultiEXR render in order to rebuild a beauty pass, as well as a few ways in which this workflow might be beneficial for adjusting colours and even textures without having to re-render your scene.

  1. Woh. I needed to watch that twice.

I knew you could do the colour correction, but expected a mask and then the UV swap blew my mind!

Is any of this new for 2.91.0 or can I continue to use the current 2.8 release?

Is there any reason that you would not want all the passes all the time in which case why is there not an easy compositor recombination workflow?

    • Should be able to do everything in this video in 2.8 just fine. The only reason I don't switch on all passes is due to the file size becoming huge! I've setup a nice little group node that makes recombining easier, which I hope to share soon.
