New Features:

Persistent Data: Perfect for fly-through and turn-table animations, your scene is only exported once per animation to save a lot of time.

Light Groups in the viewport: In Blender, every time you modify a lamp, the render process has to be restarted. In E-Cycles, you can tweak your lightning setup in real time with very high quality feedback. Your viewport rendering will continue to render samples while you modify your lightning. If you save your renders as multi-layer EXR, you can even modify the lightning of an existing animation without re-rendering it! Perfect to adapt to clients changing their mind.

Improved denoising: You now only need a few samples to get detailed previews. High samples renders will get very crisp textures compared to any alternatives.

Tutorial:

Fast and high quality AO and Clay rendering: Setup an AO or Clay render with a single click. It will render even faster and will smartly detect glossy and transparent surfaces.

You can use your current knowledge and work as you did with Blender, benefit from a huge tutorial library and knowledge base. When you want, you can start to learn the new features of E-Cycles to get the best out of it. A quick settings panel helps you getting started by grouping all the important settings in one place.

Fast UI interactions: In Blender, you have to jump between tabs and scroll a lot to find useful but hidden settings. Thanks to E-Cycles render profiles and the quick settings, you can now quickly optimize your scene with only a few clicks.

Fast viewport rendering: sharp details appear in a fraction of seconds for very fast workflow iterations.

State of the art denoising: requires only 1/4th to a 1/10th of the samples the Blender defaults alternatives need. Stacked with the base speed-up E-Cycles offers, you can get over 10x faster rendering while keeping the same image quality.

    • You are a freakin genius Mathieu!
I hope Blender foundation hires you as a full time lead developer for Cycles, with a high salary you deserve of course. Then -in sha Allah- Blender + Cycles duo will be the new gold standard in any industry for 3D rendering solution.

      • Thank you Widhi. I also got helped by very skilled artists sharing there work to show what E-Cycles can do. And your public messages are a big help too! The more people join, the more resources I have to make E-Cycles better for your workflow :)

  1. It looks awesome, the speed is impressive and I will certainly buy it in a foreseeable future.

I can't, though, help but think about the poor sods that are developing the default Cycles module. They must be like "Why can't I make it run this fast? What am I getting wrong?"
