Updated Crowdrender addon - V0.2.8 In Early Access :)

So, a few people had been asking for support of the Optix rendering device in Crowdrender (which if you are not aware is an addon for making a render farm and doing network rendering or distributed rendering in blender). We have finally got that working and a new release is on our website. Just quietly, being able to use multiple Optix capable computers at once is pretty damn amazing!

V0.2.8 has been released into early access and it contains support to use Optix capable GPUs across multiple computers. A lot of things also got fixed, sooo, this release is quite substantial!

One caveat, this release is early access only, which means its currently available to supporters of our development fund for now. However, as the fund increases, we're releasing more of these early access versions to the community for free. The idea being that once we hit a certain level of funding, patch updates like this will always be free from that point on. It's how we're supporting this project right now and to date about 200 people are subscribed.

If you're interested in learning more about this release, you can watch the video below, or head to our website to download the publicly available version, or checkout or crowdfunding page and maybe even support this project by signing up to the development fund :)

I'm a software engineer, I've worked on numerous technologies over the past 10 years. I started out working on full motion flight simulators and then worked with embedded systems. I now work on building an add-on to support rendering using multiple computers over internet/local networks. I started using blender in 2009 and have done small projects with it since then, however, crowd render, our network rendering add-on is by far the biggest adventure with Blender to date.
