LED face rig for Robots

mv.artz writes:

This is a follow-up post on a series for face rigs, we've seen how to set up this 2d face rig in Blender.
This time around we use the existing face shapes to create a LED system for the eyes and mouth. Say you're working on a robot, this could be a cool way to create some facial expressions for that rig.

Using the modifier stack and for example, dupliverts, blender allows us to go bananas. Combining several tools together to get even more out of this face rig.

Menno van Roon

Hi there! I'm Menno also known as MV.ARTZ. Most of the time I do work as a motion designer. Besides that, I like to share all the great stuff I picked up for video/film making, on my youtube channel. Expressing ideas and stories in a 3d environment is where i feel most comfortable at. The most important thing for me in our line of work is storytelling. In my work i like to incorperate techniques borrowed from artist in different fields, such as comicbook artist, film directors or actors. When it comes to animation I like to look at the underlaying principles and explain those, so it becomes software independent. I mostly use Blender and AE to explain these principles.
