Blender Cloud redesign focuses on art & accessibility

0

The Blender Cloud has been redesigned to make it easier to navigate and to put more focus on artwork, resulting in a much more pleasant experience. This is a big improvement over the old 'folder browsing' design.

Francesco writes:

Welcome to the freshly redesigned Blender Cloud. In this new version of the platform we deliver a load of improvements, both in terms of design and interaction. As a result, it’s now even easier to discover everything created by the Blender Studio team over the years.

Films
Film projects have been redesigned to make artwork more accessible. We’ve done this by creating "Galleries" and a brand new "Production Log" view (coming soon). Production Logs display project content in a timeline, making it simpler to follow and look back at every step of an open project.

Training
Learning materials have been reorganized to make the content of Courses, Workshops and Production lessons easier to search. Now it's possible to keep track of your favorite trainings by adding them to a "Favorites" list, and to easily continue watching a video, right where you left it.

More news coming soon
This redesign is the beginning of a new chapter for the Blender Studio team. Stay tuned for an exciting project announcement later this week.

Feedback welcome
If you encounter any technical issue or have a suggestion, you’re welcome to get in touch via [email protected] or https://developer.blender.org/maniphest/task/edit/form/15/

Special Thanks
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the development of this latest iteration: Sem Mulder, Mike Newbon, Natalia Maniakowska, Anna Sirota, Sybren Stüvel and Pablo Vazquez.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
