Volume to Mesh Modifier

2

Jacques Lucke is on a roll, implementing feature after feature, recently setting his eyes on developing Blender’s VDB toolset and capabilities. His latest addition is a Volume to Mesh modifier, which complements the his other two modifier additions, the Mesh to Volume modifier and the Volume Displace modifer.

The Volume to Mesh modifier works by converting the “surface” of the volume into a mesh, with the surface being defined by a threshold value. The threshold eliminates all voxels having a lower density than its set value.

This new modifier has already dropped in the latest blender 2.91 experimental build which you can download from the link below.

  1. Perfect timing! I was wondering when Jacques would close the loop on mesh->volume, edit volume, volume-> mesh. Thank you!
    This is amazing.
