[Tutorial] Blender 2.9 for Production - 03 RenderLayers, Collections & Ray-Visibility

pixeltrain3d writes:

To render complex scenes for compositing more effective, we normally use Render Layers (View Layers). In this third tutorial of our "Blender 2.9 for Production" series, I explain how to set these up in Blender 2.9, how to use Collections for scene organization and how to tell Cycles, which object is contributing to a process by Render Stats (Ray Visibility).

So, this tutorial is packed with information you will need for effective comping later in Blender or outside in NUKE or Fusion.

In this tutorial, we will talk about Render Layers / View Layers in Blender 2.9 and how to setup them for Compositing. To use Render Layers you first have to understand the powerful Collection System in Blender 2.9 and so we will start with that and then go through the process of organizing a scene, set up visibility, contributions and render stats (ray visibility) for objects.

Have fun,
