Grease Pencil Update: Trace Images

0

Grease Pencil Developer Antonio Vazquez has been hard at work improving the GP toolset, with him always dropping one cool feature after the other on this already groundbreaking tool. His latest addition is a new operator allowing to trace Images and transform them into GP strokes.

This exciting new feature uses the Potrace library (the same one used by Inkscape), to generate Grease pencil strokes from a traced image. This operator works right in the viewport on an imported image, immediately bridging the world of rasterized images to the versatility of GP.

Here is Pablo Vasquez demonstrating this new feature on the official Blender Youtube Chanel.

The Potrace library now being a part of Blender, Antonio Vazquez promises new features making use of it to come!
