Snappier Animation in Blender 2.91!

3

Blender Developer Sybren Stüvel, currently working on Blender’s animation system and USD support among other things, has just revealed a new patch allowing for “snappier” animation with just two keyframes in Blender 2.91.

The snappier animation is a result of expanding the maximum “bend” of the curve handles, as seen in the screenshot provided by Sybren above, by relaxing the previous limitations imposed on bezier curves. This patch was authored by Antoine Grasset (his first patch no less!), and you can read more on the link below:

  1. I love the improvements being made in Blender lately. I'm really surprised you couldn't do this before. It seems the graph editor needs some attention. Like being able to select curves themselves would be a huge timesaver.

  2. Yeah, I know. Was literally tring to do this the other day in 2.90. A work around though is to change the f-curve to exponential which has a similar effect.
