Not easy talking about inspiration. Anytime I start from some kind of idea or joke that I have in mind but I often end with something completely different.
I am really a bad planner. I came from cartoon strips, I was writing and drawing strips so I think my process is very similar to that.
Btw, I agree with you the end result of this video is somehow sad and maybe, unconsciously, this bad period influenced me.
