I made this filter using the built-in wood texture in band mode to get the stripes or “scanlines”. Then I offset the color channels to imitate the imperfect color channel alignment that most CRTs have and added a glare node set to fog mode. Obviously, the example above is a little extreme. A real CRT wouldn’t look quite that bad unless it was a very early model and not what most people are used to.
